MANDAHUNOG CAVE AND SPRING
TABUAN, ANTEQUERA BOHOL
People tend to go for summer getaway for families who wish to have a taste of a cool summer with their naturally ice-cold water. It's an extra ordinary place for a wonderful experience and it is a great place who loves to have fun in the water,vivid dive sites and wondrous caves where you can swim in the natural cold spring waters.
I will show you the usual itinerary and experience the fun and adventure of Antequera Bohol. Antequera is famous not just basket but they're totally blessed with waterfalls,springs and caves. Antequera has dicovered hidden gems in Bohol. This spring is the Mandahunog Cave and Spring located in Tabuan, Antequera Bohol. Mandahunog Cave and Spring was only known in their barangay and to its neighborhood barangays. It was not totally known as a famous spot in the entire town of Antequera. Mandahunog Cave and Spring was came from the word on it's barangay Mandahunog.
Mandahunog is a deeep blue cave pool inside with around rock formation. It consists of flowing water,fresh water and the surroundings were very peaceful. The spring is actually coming from the inner part of the Cave that flows down to the river.

When you go there it takes an hour from City of Tagbilaran to get in touch to the town of Antequera Bohol. If you want to travel own your own or by your friends, families,love ones and relatives, from Tagbilaran City you may head to Cogon Terminal or integrated bus station to Dao and catch a bus going to Antequera route. Drop of at Antequera Public Market to get there you must ride a "Habal-habal" for the cost of around 30.00 per person.
My friends and I decided to go in Mandahunog, Antequera. It's already 9 in the morning we actually buy some foods before we go to our destination after buying my friends decided that we must need a jeep to take us to Antequera. For how many minutes and hours of travelling it was actually too hot when we made our way to Antequera but still we must go and experience there cold spring.
After almost an hour of travel from Dao, Tagbilaran City to Tabuan, we take some pictures before we go to the cottage.
I felt so happy when i see the cave spring pool i felt like somebody was throne into the pool before that there someone was jumping off from the higher elevation to the water. I went closer to the cave pool spring when i stepped into the downstairs I wanted to take off my shirt right away and move closer to the water i said "whoaah it feels like you are in the freezer it's so very cold." I immediately hurried to the cottage to put my things off and go down to the cave pool again but i encourage my friends to go down near the cave because it's so beautiful and then they hurriedly go down.
Before i stepped into the water i really scream out of nowhere because i never really experience a colder spring like this. I swam into the water and go to the inner part of the cave where the water came from it was really dark and a little bit scary but i was brave to explore the inner part and i climb the rock where could i see the views inside the cave.
The cave pool spring in Antequera is truly one of a kind natural wonders of Bohol even if i tried so many spring in Bohol like Badiang in Valencia and Mag aso Falls in Antequera. It was my great and unique adventure. I have so many questions like whenever i go back there's something new and something that aroused my wanderlust soul. I will never really get tired of exploring my hometown Bohol.
